What We Do
IngredientQuery is a free AI-powered ingredient scanner. Upload a photo of any food, beverage, cosmetic, or pet food label and our system extracts the ingredient list, explains each ingredient in plain language, flags hidden risks, and scores the product with a Health Grade from A to F.
Most ingredient scanners are barcode databases. We're not. We analyze the actual ingredient text — which means we can scan anything, even products not in any database, even handwritten labels.
Why We Built This
Food manufacturers have spent decades making ingredient lists harder to read — splitting sugar across 60+ aliases, hiding artificial dyes behind E-numbers, and burying preservatives under scientific names most people have never heard of.
We built IngredientQuery to level the playing field. You shouldn't need a chemistry degree to understand what you're eating. Our scanner gives you the same analysis a nutrition researcher would — in plain English, instantly, for free.

How It Works

- Our AI vision model extracts the ingredient text
- Each ingredient is looked up against our flag database (preservatives, dyes, GMO derivatives, endocrine disruptors, and more)
- A plain-language explanation is generated for every ingredient
- The product receives a Health Grade (A–F) and Transparency Score
Scans are powered by Claude (Anthropic). We do not store your label images after processing.
