A widely used UVB filter that penetrates skin and has mild endocrine disruption evidence.

How it works

Octinoxate absorbs UVB radiation (290–320nm) and is one of the most used chemical UV filters globally due to its high UVB protection and cosmetically elegant feel. It penetrates skin and is detectable in blood after application. Research suggests mild oestrogenic activity and potential thyroid disruption in animal studies.
