Generally SafebotanicalEWG: 1

A chamomile-derived anti-irritant that soothes, softens, and reduces redness.

How it works

Bisabolol is a monocyclic sesquiterpene alcohol found naturally in chamomile and candeia tree. It inhibits inflammatory mediators, enhances skin penetration of other actives, and has demonstrated wound-healing properties. It is widely used to buffer potentially irritating ingredients — particularly acids, retinoids, and fragrance — and is well-tolerated even on compromised skin.
