Sodium Hyaluronate

Also known as: HA salt, Hyaluronic Acid (sodium salt)

Generally SafehumectantEWG: 1

The sodium salt form of hyaluronic acid — smaller, more stable, and better at penetrating skin.

How it works

Sodium hyaluronate has a lower molecular weight than hyaluronic acid, allowing it to penetrate more deeply into the epidermis. It is more stable and less prone to oxidation, making it the preferred form in most modern formulations. Both forms attract and retain moisture, but sodium hyaluronate delivers more hydration to deeper skin layers.
